About
Meet Cayla Townes, RP, CCC
I am a therapist specializing in grief, anxiety, trauma, and relationships. I help individuals gain understanding and new ways of thinking about themselves, their situations, and others that help them lead more purposeful, hopeful lives.
I believe everyone has a story, and that story is worth listening to. What happens all too often is that the story we tell about ourselves isn't true. Instead of being a reflection of our true, authentic selves, it's based on the pain and hurt we've experienced.

The things we believe about ourselves are crucial to our well-being because they shape our thoughts, feelings, and choices. If we believe negative things about who we are at our core, it can lead to symptoms and behaviours that interfere with our wellbeing.

This is where I come in. I provide support and validation to create a place where you can explore what it means to be your authentic self. Within this space you can begin rewriting your story and seeing yourself for the unique and deserving person you are.

It's my privilege to walk beside you on your journey.
"But in order to make you understand, to give you my life, I must tell you a story..."

Virginia Woolf
My Story
Just like you, I am a whole made up of many parts: child from a military family, grandchild, partner of a first responder, friend, colleague, parent, artist.

And just like you, my life has been made up of many experiences, both wonderful and heartbreaking: love, loss, change, wonder, loneliness, laughter, grief, and the bittersweet that comes in between so many of life's experiences.
When we work together, you won't just get an experienced mental health professional. You get a real person with lived experiences, relationships, and struggles.
I haven't been through the exact same thing you have because no one else has ever been in your shoes. But I know how to support you with empathy, common sense, warmth, and a sense of humour as you walk your path.
